What homeowners say about working with us

Elijah & Dave came by to do the estimate. They covered everything really well. Discussed the process, timing & price. They knew what they were doing. Mark came on the agreed day. He had to deal with animals but did all the stuff we asked. After the first day, there was a lot of progress. Mark cleaned up great so we could live in the house that evening. He came in the next morning & finished up just as promised. Our entire interaction with the company was amazing. Highly recommend.

I was very happy with the salesman Elisha and the crew Vasil and Arthur were respectful of my home. And I left them both here while I was at work both days. They were always on time and after the project was finished they put everything back as it was and vacuumed and cleaned up completely. I give this company an A+++++.
Cathy Simpson
Great experience from start to finish. The best part was the installers were an absolute joy. You could see they took pride in their work and cared about our home.
Jody Thompson
We had a very good experience. The salesman Mark was great and kept us updated on everything that was happening, and our flooring person Eugene was so good and considerate with all he had to do. 10 out of 10 recommend.

WHY LVP

Waterproof vinyl plank flooring built for kids, pets and spills

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is a layered floor: a printed wood-look design on top, a clear wear layer protecting it, and a rigid core underneath that does not swell when it gets wet. Its cousin, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), uses the same construction with a stone or ceramic tile look.

That core is why waterproof luxury vinyl works in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements, where traditional hardwood would cup and swell. Upstate summers are humid, and a floor that ignores moisture is one less thing to worry about.

The number that decides durability is the wear layer, measured in mil. A thinner layer suits a guest bedroom. A 20 to 22 mil layer is our choice for busy kitchens, hallways and homes with pets, because it resists scratches for years longer.

  • Waterproof core. Spills, pet accidents and wet boots sit on the surface instead of soaking in.

  • Wear layers up to 30 mil. Our Revival collection carries the thickest layer we sell, built for heavy traffic and long-term durability.

  • An authentic wood look. Embossed grain designs and long planks that look like real wood from standing height.

INSTALLATION

How we install vinyl planks so the seams stay tight

Most failed waterproof flooring fails underneath. Click-lock LVP floats over the subfloor, so any dip or hump flexes the joints every time someone walks over it, and joints that flex eventually separate. Before installation we check the subfloor with a straightedge and level it to the manufacturer's flatness requirement, because skipping that step voids most warranties.

A typical job follows the same steps: a free in-home measure, a written quote, delivery, removal of your old carpet or tile, subfloor prep, installation, then trim, transitions and cleanup. Most single-level homes are finished in one to three days, and those details are what make the floor last.

  • Subfloor leveled before a plank goes down. The step that protects your warranty and keeps joints from gapping.

  • Furniture moved and old flooring removed. Carpet, tile or sheet vinyl comes out as part of the job.

  • Accurate, honest measurements. We order what each room needs plus a sensible cut allowance, nothing padded.

Our LVP installation process, step by step

Every luxury vinyl plank floor we install follows the same method, whether it is one room or a whole property. Here is what happens on install day, and why each step matters. Thinking about a DIY project instead? The tips and tricks below are what separate a floor that lasts from one that gaps.

  1. Step 1

Prep the subfloor and let the planks acclimate

The old floor comes up first. We clean away dirt and debris, secure loose boards, and sand or grind high spots until the subfloor is flat and smooth, because vinyl planks flex at the joints over any dip. The planks acclimate in the room, and we add underlayment where the plank does not have a pad attached.

  2. Step 2

Measure, plan the layout and snap a chalk line

We measure every room and closet, find the center of the space, and plan the layout so the last row against the opposite wall is not a thin sliver. A chalk line snapped across the room keeps the first row straight even when the walls are not.

  3. Step 3

Undercut the door jambs and set the first row

Instead of cutting planks around door casings, we undercut the door jambs so the flooring slides underneath for a clean edge. The first row goes along the straightest wall with its tongue facing out, leaving the expansion gap the manufacturer's instructions call for.

  4. Step 4

Click each next row into place and stagger the seams

Each next row clicks tongue into groove along the one before it. We stagger the end seams so no two line up, check that every joint closes without a gap, and replace any plank that chips or breaks at the lock rather than forcing it. Cutting is done with a sharp knife or a saw, depending on the plank thickness.

  5. Step 5

Floating or glue-down: the right method for the room

Most homes get a floating floor, which installs quickly over a flat subfloor. On stairs, and in some large open or light commercial spaces, a glue-down method can be the better choice. We recommend the method based on your subfloor, the plank thickness and the plank width, not on what is fastest for us.

  6. Step 6

    Baseboards, transitions and cleanup

The expansion gap at the walls is hidden under baseboards or quarter round. Baseboards that come off are reinstalled once the floor is down, so plan any paint touch-ups for afterward. Transitions go in at every doorway, and we clean up and walk the finished floor with you before we leave.

Luxury vinyl plank questions

What is the difference between vinyl plank and luxury vinyl plank?

Mostly construction. Older vinyl plank is thin and flexible. Luxury vinyl plank adds a thicker wear layer, an embossed surface that looks like real wood and, in rigid core products like ours, a stiff waterproof core that hides minor subfloor flaws.

Is LVP cheaper than tile?

Usually. Porcelain and ceramic tile take longer to install because each tile is set in mortar, grouted and left to cure, so labor costs more. LVP also feels warmer underfoot in bathrooms and kitchens, while tile and stone still win for showers and heat resistance.

What are the downsides of luxury vinyl plank?

It cannot be sanded and refinished like hardwood, very heavy point loads can dent it, and cheap planks with thin wear layers scratch quickly. Strong direct sun can fade some colors over time, so we steer sunrooms toward UV-rated products.

Is COREtec a good brand?

Yes. COREtec is one of the original rigid core brands, and most collections carry a limited lifetime residential warranty. We install it, and we also show you United Weavers and Permshield lines with similar wear layers for less.

Can a refrigerator go on LVP?

Yes. Roll it in on plywood or an appliance slide so the wear layer is not gouged. We install floating floors around kitchen cabinets and islands, not under them, so the floor can still expand and contract.

Where do you install luxury vinyl plank?
