What homeowners say about working with us

What laminate flooring is, and how it compares to luxury vinyl
Laminate flooring is a layered plank with a dense wood fiber core, a high-resolution photo of real wood on top, and a hard, clear wear layer that takes the abuse.
That top layer is designed to resist scratches, dents and fading better than most hardwood, which is why laminate holds up so well in active homes with kids and pets.
Modern laminate also looks far better than the shiny planks of 20 years ago. Embossed textures follow the printed grain, so the floor has the feel of realistic wood underfoot.
Compared with luxury vinyl, laminate usually has a harder, deeper-textured surface, while vinyl plank wins anywhere water is a risk. It is also a popular way to replace old carpet in bedrooms and living rooms.
Tough on scratches. A hard wear layer built for durability and everyday performance with dogs, kids and furniture.
Real wood looks for less than hardwood. The style of oak or hickory without the price of solid wood.
Easy to care for. Sweep and damp-mop, with no sanding, staining or refinishing, ever.

How we install laminate so it stays quiet and tight
Laminate flooring is a floating floor held together by a click lock system, so the subfloor has to be flat.
We check it with a straightedge, level low spots, and lay an underlayment for sound and moisture protection unless the plank has one attached. Planks acclimate before installation, and we leave the expansion gap the manufacturer calls for, hidden under baseboard or quarter round.
Subfloor leveled first. Flat floors keep the locking joints from clicking, gapping or peeling apart.
Underlayment matched to your floor. A moisture barrier over concrete, sound control upstairs.
Clean transitions to ceramic tile and other floors. Finished edges at every doorway, then a full cleanup.

Laminate options for your next renovation project
Laminate comes in more options than most people expect, and each one changes the look and the quote:
- Thickness. 8 mm suits most rooms, and 10 to 12 mm planks feel more solid underfoot.
- Water resistance. Standard laminate for living areas, water-resistant lines for kitchens and entries.
- Plank width and length. Classic widths, or wide, long planks for open floor plans.
- Texture and finishes. Embossed grain from rustic hickory to smooth, light oak.
- Underlayment. An attached pad, or a separate layer matched to your subfloor.
Laminate costs well under hardwood, which makes it a smart choice for whole-home updates, rental properties and any budget that still wants the look of wood, and it can transform a room in one to three days. Our installation services cover the whole job from the beginning, with clear pricing on a written quote.

Laminate flooring questions
Is laminate flooring waterproof?
Most laminate is water resistant, not waterproof. Newer lines seal their joints and resist surface spills for many hours, but the core is still wood fiber and can swell if water sits in the seams. For bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements we offer luxury vinyl plank instead.
Which is better, laminate or vinyl plank?
Laminate usually has deeper texture and a harder surface, so it resists scratches well in living rooms and bedrooms. Vinyl plank wins anywhere water is a risk. Many homes use laminate in living spaces and LVP or tile in kitchens and baths.
Is it easy to install laminate yourself?
A simple, square room is doable for a handy homeowner. Most DIY problems come from skipped subfloor prep, missing expansion gaps and rough transitions at doorways, and those are what make a floor click, gap or peel. Professional installation also keeps the manufacturer's warranty straightforward.
What is the downside of laminate flooring?
It does not like standing water, it cannot be refinished, and without a good underlayment it can sound hollow. Good installation handles the last two, and choosing the right room handles the first.
Do you put anything under laminate flooring?
Yes. Laminate needs an underlayment for cushioning and sound, plus a moisture barrier over concrete. Some planks have a pad attached, and then we skip the extra layer.
How long should laminate sit before installing?
Most manufacturers ask for about 48 hours in the room where it will be installed, so the planks adjust to your home's temperature and humidity. We plan delivery around that.
